Patient Reviews
We took our Ragdoll cat here for grooming service. The groomer did a wonderful job, achieving the Lion cut. When we dropped her off she had a lot of matted knots on her underside but he sorted that out impeccably. I had asked him to not clip her claws and he did not, which was great as some other places don’t remember specific requests. More importantly, our cat seemed to be unstressed, relaxed, curious and happy when we picked her up. Our fur baby had rejected other reputable (and overpriced) groomers in BGC and Makati, all of whom messaged me to pick her up without the grooming service complete. She’s a sweet cat but gets very scared by new places. We will only bring her here to Makati Dog and Cat for her grooming. They offer sedation but the grooming kuya did such an amazing job that she did not need to be sedated.
Brought my dog for supposedly grooming and doctor consultation only. When i was about to pick him up and pay for the bill, i was charged for laboratory which i did not know about. The price of the lab test is no joke, paano kung walang pera yung owner. I even asked the doctor what’s wrong with my dog then he said he will explain everything when i come back to pick him up but said nothing about doing laboratory. You guys should’ve asked the owner first before doing tests or whatever pero wala eh pag labas ng bill dun na makikita. The doctor was nice naman and the groomers and the staff. May pagkukulang lang.
I recently brought my dog to Makati Dog and Cat Hospital for a routine dental cleaning (my aunt accompanied her because I had prior commitments). Before the procedure, the clinic called me to get consent for anesthesia, which I agreed to. A short while later, they called again asking for approval to extract 8 of my dog’s teeth. What alarmed me was how they kept pressuring me on the phone to decide immediately, repeatedly saying they needed to proceed because my dog was already under anesthesia — yet they had not shown me any X-ray or medical findings, nor discussed anything with me in detail. I felt like I was being pushed into approving a major procedure blindly, without proper transparency. Since extractions are a serious decision, I told them not to proceed yet and asked to see the X-ray first so we could review everything properly. Instead of providing the X-ray, they kept saying they “couldn’t do it because I already said no,” which made no sense at all. An X-ray is standard before extractions, so I was confused why they wouldn’t show it before asking for consent. Because of the back-and-forth on the phone, I decided to come to the clinic personally. When I arrived, I met Dr. Angel, who unfortunately was extremely dismissive and unprofessional from the start. She didn’t greet me, avoided eye contact, and seemed irritated throughout the conversation. I spoke calmly and respectfully — even telling her that I trusted her expertise — but that I simply needed to see the X-ray before approving 8 extractions. Instead of explaining anything, she remained curt, unhelpful, and uninterested in clarifying the situation. To be clear: my issue is only with Dr. Angel. The front desk staff are consistently polite, warm, and accommodating, and the assistants who handle the dogs are always gentle and caring. I’ve had good experiences with them in the past, and I appreciate how they treat both pets and owners. But this particular experience was extremely disappointing due to the lack of communication, empathy, and professionalism from Dr. Angel — especially during a stressful situation involving my dog’s health. I paid the bill, thanked the staff who were helpful, and left. I sincerely hope the clinic addresses this and improves communication and transparency moving forward. Pet owners deserve clear explanations and respectful treatment, especially when making major medical decisions for their animals.
