I am writing this in defense of Dr. Cyril de Vera of Calico Animal health clinic, who has recently been spoken of negatively in public. As someone who has personally entrusted my pets to Dr. Cyril, I have witnessed the compassion, professionalism, and genuine dedication to animal care that this doctor consistently shows. Many pet owners can also attest to how much he/she has helped in ensuring the health and well-being of our beloved pets. While it is understandable that not every case has the outcome we hope for, it is important to remember that veterinarians do their best with the knowledge, skills, and resources available. Slandering or spreading negative remarks without full facts not only damages reputations but also discourages those who have committed their lives to caring for animals. Went for a check up for my dog, because his eye was not opening and I wanted to know what was wrong with him, not a good experience to say the least. First, the vet did not even checked my dog, he just asked me what's wrong with the dog and then mocked me, if not for the assistant who ACTUALLY CHECKED my dog, then he wouldn't have known what's wrong with the dog . Second, the doctor gave me the medicine for the dog, but he did not give a clear instruction on when the medicine will be used, if it is 3x a week or 1x a week. NOTHING.. I had to ask him literally on when the medicine will be used in a day. Lastly, he is too careless to begin with. He did not explained the condition nor the findings. Also upon checking about the medicine given, there were many findings that says that the medicine is not appropriate for dogs. I also had an old experience from that same doctor, when my dog had the parvo, he just told us that it's from food poisoning. He's just too careless and I wouldn't recommend going here for dog checkups. Bad experience overall..
