BrightSmile Avenue Dental Clinic

I tried going to this place twice for my bi-annual cleaning since they were the closest clinic covered by my HMO. The first time I went, they told me that the cleaning they'll do will include procedures not covered by my HMO and I'll have to pay 5k+ out of pocket, and they can't do the procedure that was covered without that upcharge. I declined and booked it out of there even if they already had me sat at the dentist chair. I then got the procedure done with my local dentist, she performed the cleaning, no questions asked for 600php. The second time, I thought to try since I got my cleaning done on time, surely they won't have me pay additional costs right? Wrong. As I sat there in the dental chair, they told me I would need to pay an additional 1,300php, otherwise they can't go ahead with the procedure. They even said "Mas mura na ngayon sir". The gall. I decided to go with it this time, just to give it a shot and thought, I could just reimburse it later with my HMO. The process was painful, I was bleeding much more than I usually did for my standard cleaning, and even a while after the procedure, my gums still feel bruised. I processed the reimbursement with my clinic, but then I find out that they need a dental certificate to go through with it. I reach out to Brightsmile, only to find out that a dental certificate costs an additional 200php. Furthermore, the OR they gave me was intentionally so vague that my HMO has to check if it's even something they can reimburse. I should have read the 1 star reviews before going, that was my bad. I hope that people learn from my experience and hopefully, this greedy clinic learns changes it's ways. To Brightsmile: Don't set up an office in an expensive area when you can barely afford it and then take the cost out on your customers. You did not make me smile. NEVER.AGAIN.
